Up Front is a breastfeeding support group run by mums for other mothers and mums to be. We are mums who felt that the amount of assistance and support in Cornwall for mums who wished to breastfeed their babies was not enough.
With the ever-growing gap in aftercare, due to the pressures of the midwives' work load, we decided to assist (with thier support) the midwives and healthcare professionals by offering on-hand support and guidance, thus "giving birth" to Up Front. We are a purely voluntary group of mums, here for other mums.
All of our volunteer mums have been trained as Peer Supporters by the National Childbirth Trust. We can assist with latching problems and general enquiries about breastfeeding. Most of all, though, we are here for support; to assist women who need a little encouragement to know that what they are doing for their baby is the best and that they can do it.
